BYD Sets New Record, Sealion 06 Reaches 100,000 Units In Just 100 Days

JAKARTA BYD recorded a new achievement through its newest electric SUV, Sealion 06. Within just 100 days of its launch on July 24, 2025, this model has penetrated the production of 100,000 units.

That is, in a day an average of 1,000 units are produced. Reporting from Carnewschina, Saturday, November 1, this achievement made Sealion 06 the fastest car in BYD's history to reach these production figures, surpassing the previous record models from various segments.

Head of Ocean BYD Line Sales, Zhang Zhuo, revealed that an average of one Sealion 06 is sold every one and a half minutes since its market. This achievement confirms the popularity of the medium SUV in China's domestic market and shows the speed of BYD in adjusting production strategies to high demand.

BYD Sealion 06 comes with two choices of driving systems, namely pure electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions called DM-i. EV variants are built on the 3.0 Evo e-Platform platform and offer two choices of 65.28 kWh and 78.72 kWh batteries with a distance of up to 605 kilometers based on CLTC standards.

The PHEV variant carries a 1.5 liter engine combined with a 160 kW electric motor, with an electric distance of up to 170 kilometers and a total range of 1,670 kilometers. In terms of design, Sealion 06 carries the design language 'Ocean Series' typical of BYD with a closed grille.

Then the front lights of the model are separated, as well as a bumpy back light that provides a futuristic display. The interior is equipped with a 15.6-inch infotainment display, a digital instrument panel, a front seat with ventilation, and a panoramic roof measuring 1.73 square meters.

The baggage capacity reaches 1,630 liters when the back seat is folded, making it one of the most functional electric SUVs in its class. Safety features are one of Sealion 06's advantages. The car is equipped with a 'God's Eye' surveillance system, seven air bags, and more than 30 active safety functions.

The combination reflects BYD's focus on presenting electric vehicles that are not only efficient and modern, but also safe and comfortable for daily use. In the Chinese market, Sealion 06 is sold at prices ranging from 139,800 yuan to 163,800 yuan, or around Rp286 million to Rp335 million.

The price makes it one of the electric SUVs with a competitive feature and value ratio in its segment. With such a fast production record, Sealion 06 shows the effectiveness of BYD's strategy in expanding the ranks of electrified vehicles.
