Foreign Ministers Of Muslim Countries Including RI Kumpul In Istanbul Discuss Gaza's Armistice

JAKARTA - Foreign ministers from several Muslim countries will meet in Istanbul on Monday next week discussing the Gaza ceasefire and the next steps there.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the meeting would include foreign ministers from countries represented at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York in September.

The meeting, which discussed the situation in Gaza, was attended by Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

"The topic that is currently being discussed is how to proceed to the second stage, namely the stability force," Fidan said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week signaled his rejection of any role Turkey's security forces in the Gaza Strip as part of a mission to monitor the US-backed ceasefire with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
