Pramono Rewards 3 Benyamin S Award Winners Overseas

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung gave special gifts to the three village heads who won the Benyamin S Award this year. They will have the opportunity to participate in work visits abroad with the governor, deputy governor, or the ranks of DKI regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

Pramono said the award bonus was a form of appreciation for the hard work of the lurah in building a comfortable, beautiful, and prosperous environment. He wants the winners to have new experiences that can expand their insight and work spirit.

"To the three winners, I ask that they be given the opportunity if there is an OPD, even if the governor or deputy governor have a visit, they may be invited together so that they have experience to see the world," Pramono said during the awarding of the Benyamin S Award at Central Jakarta, Friday, October 31.

In this year's Benjamin S Award, there are four categories of assessment: clean, comfortable, beautiful, and prosperous. Slipi Village was chosen as the winner of the comfortable' category, Setu won in the indah' category, while the sesejahtera category was won by Glodok Village.

Pramono said that the winner village heads would be invited to the international official forums attended by Jakarta, such as the C40 World Mayor Summit which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

"Incidentally, if I'm not mistaken, I will be in Rio de Janeiro. In Rio de Janeiro, so that they can really see the world and that's my commitment to make them people who work for their urban villages have a sense of pride," he explained.

Pramono believes that this experience will provide new motivation for the lurah to be more professional in serving their citizens.

"I believe with that experience, it is different if they go with their families or relatives abroad, it will be different if they go together with the governor, deputy governor, OPD," said Pramono.

Please note, the awarding of the Benyamin S Award category 'clean' does not have a winner because there is no kelurahan that meets the criteria of the jury. Pramono also revealed the reason.

"Earlier, the jury decided that for this year there will be no clean ones. Why not? Because there is not yet one sub-district that stands out very well for the level of cleanliness. But for the other three criteria, I think," said Pramono.

Pramono has no problem with the absence of a kelurahan that won the "clean" category this year. Moreover, according to him, the jury's assessment indicator in that category is quite strict.

"This shows existing fairness, honesty created by the judges. It does not force oneself to be able to have a village that is in the clean criteria, because the clean criteria made by the judges are actually quite high," he added.
