JAKARTA - Around 800 students from 1,546 Vocational High School (SMK) Kandeman, Batang Regency, Central Java (Central Java), were poisoned allegedly after eating food for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program, Friday, October 31.
Head of SMK Kandeman Yulianto said most of the students experienced diarrhea and some were able to survive because of their healthy immune system so they did not get hospitalized.
"Indeed, there was one who was treated at the hospital but some of it had been returned to the homes of each student," he said in Batang, confiscated by Antara.
Currently, his party is still waiting for the results of laboratory tests related to the case of children experiencing nausea and vomiting.
"So, we have not dared to convey whether the poisoning case was due to MBG or whether we have not dared to convey it while waiting for the laboratory results," he said.
He conveyed a number of menus that were suspected of containing the poison, such as meatballs, chicken meat, and vegetables.
The Director of the Batang Any Rusydiati District General Hospital (RSUD) admitted that there were students who had been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
"However, he has returned home. There was one child who entered at around 11.40 WIB and underwent observation because he experienced symptoms of nausea and diarrhea but no one was hospitalized," he said.
