Man In Siak Influenced By Tuak To Kill Colleagues Because Not Given Wifi Access Arrested In Pekanbaru

JAKARTA - The Siak Resort Police (Polres) in Riau Province arrested the killer who buried his victim wrapped in tarpaulins whose mode was only disappointment because he did not get access to the wifi "hotspot" network.

The head of the Siak Police, AKBP Eka Ariandi, said that the Palaku with the initials IK (44), a resident of West Perawang Village, Tualang District. The police arrested the perpetrator in Pekanbaru on Wednesday this week along with the evidence used at the time of the incident.

"The perpetrator's motive is very trivial, just because he was not given a hotspot network. However, because he was under the influence of palm wine, the perpetrator was emotional and immediately abused the victim to death," said the Police Chief in Siak, Friday, quoted by Antara.

The Siak Police Chief explained that the incident began on Tuesday, October 28 evening in West Perawang Village. At that time, the perpetrator and the victim were gathered while drinking palm wine at the perpetrator's house.

In a drunken state, the perpetrator got emotional because the victim refused to provide access to a hotspot. The perpetrator then blindly killed the victim.

After confirming the victim was dead, the perpetrator tried to eliminate traces by burying the body in the garden not far from his house. The victim's body was found in a pathetic condition, wrapped in a blue tarp.

From the results of the investigation in the field, evidence of one machete, hoe, blue tarpaulin, strands of bloodstained cloth, as well as victim's belongings such as television, clothing, and flash drives containing CCTV footage.

"The perpetrator admitted all his actions. We secured him along with a number of evidences that strengthened the murder crime," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning Premeditated Murder, a subsidiary of Article 338 of the Criminal Code on Murder, with a threat of 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.

"This case is a valuable lesson for all of us. One moment of emotion can be fatal and destroy the future," said the Siak Police Chief.
