AGO Turns Out To Have Executed Harvey Moeis In Prison Since July

The Attorney General's Office revealed that Harvey Moeis, convicted of corruption in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining permit area of PT Timah Tbk, had been sentenced to 20 years in prison since July 2025.

"The Indonesian Prosecutor's Office through the South Jakarta District Attorney has carried out the execution of the agency against the convict Harvey Moeis who was found guilty in the tin commodity corruption case," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Anang Supriatna, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 30.

Anang said that HarveyMoeis was sentenced to prison at Cibinong Prison, Bogor Regency, West Java. This execution was carried out following the receipt of a court decision with permanent legal force or inkrah.

Execution is based on acceptance of cassation decisions with Number 5009 K/Pid.Sus/2025 Jo No. 1/PIDSUS-TPK/2025 PT DKI jo. Number: 70/PIDSUS-TPK/PN.JKT.PST dated June 25, 2025 and a court decision execution warrant (P-48) Number: Prin -2779/M.1.14/Fu.1/07/2025 for convicts on behalf of Harvey Moeis dated July 18, 2025.

"Based on the order, the executor prosecutor at the South Jakarta District Attorney has carried out a court decision in the form of the execution of the body against the convict Harvey Moeis. This implementation is stated in the Minutes of the Implementation of the Court's Decision (Pidsus-38) dated July 21, 2025," he said.

The Supreme Court in July 2025 decided to reject Harvey Moeis' appeal, which is an extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) in a corruption case, which is still sentenced to 20 years in prison in a tin corruption case.

Harvey Moeis is also still subject to fines and additional penalties in the form of replacement money such as the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court, which is Rp. 1 billion, provided that if it is not paid, it will be replaced (subsider) with eight months in prison and compensation of Rp. 420 billion, subsidiary to 10 years in prison.

Initially, the panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced HarveyMoeis to 6 years and 6 months in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison, and compensation of Rp. 210 billion, subsidiary to 2 years in prison.

At the appeal level, the DKI Jakarta High Court increased HarveyMoeis' sentence to 20 years in prison, a fine of Rp1 billion, a subsidiary of 8 months in prison, and a replacement money of Rp420 billion, subsidiary to 10 years in prison.

In this case, Harvey Moeis was found guilty of joint corruption related to the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit area or PT Timah Tbk IUP in 2015 '2022 which caused state losses of IDR 300 trillion.
