Floods Begin To Recede, Residents Of Banggai Central Sulawesi Are Starting To Be Busy Cleaning Their Houses

PALU - As many as 50 families (KK) were affected by the flood that hit Poh Village, Pagimana District, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday night.

Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Sulawesi Province, Akris Fattah Yunus, said the flood occurred at around 21.00 WITA after heavy rains flushed the Pagimana area since evening.

"High-intensity rain causes the Poh River to increase and overflow into residential areas as well as public facilities around the river," he said in his statement in Palu, Antara, Thursday, October 30.

Based on the results of the initial assessment, at least 50 families were affected, two houses were slightly damaged, while one school unit and one polyndes were also flooded.

However, Akris ensured that there were no casualties or residents who fled as a result of the incident. His party is now coordinating with the Banggai Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) to carry out further assessments and prepare further handling steps.

Based on the provisional report, urgent needs at the location include logistical assistance in disaster management and additional personnel for environmental cleaning.

The floods have receded. Residents are now cleaning their respective houses and roads that were previously flooded, said Akris.
