Trump-Xi Jinping Holds Hand, Meets 1 Hour 45 Minutes At South Korean Busan Air Base

JAKARTA - Chinese President Xi Jinping met with US President Donald Trump at an air base in Busan, South Korea, Thursday, October 30.

The meeting lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes starting with Trump and Xi Jinping shaking hands. In his warm welcome, Trump was optimistic about the improving relations between the two countries involved in the trade war.

"I think we've agreed on a lot of things, and we're going to agree on more now, but President Xi is a great leader of a great country, and I think we're going to have a fantastic relationship for a long time," Trump said.

Xi said that since Trump was re-elected as US President for the second position, he and Trump had spoken three times by telephone.

However, he said relations between the two countries remained "in total stable."

"Given our different national conditions, we don't always agree, and it's natural that these two countries with the world's leading economies have occasionally clashed," Xi said through an interpreter.
