Sleeping In A Mosque Not Building Up, A Man From Cianjur Was Evacuated By Black Cross Officers

JAKARTA - A man was found dead on the terrace of the Sultan Sunaro Mosque, Jalan Jembatan Tinggi, Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. The identification team that received the report immediately conducted a crime scene investigation with the Tanah Abang Metro Police.

It was later discovered that the victim with the initials MT (48) was a resident of Cianjur Regency, West Java. The victim has been seen sleeping on the terrace of the mosque for the last few days.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said, when the victim was found he was in a sleeping position and showed no signs of life.

"Our first step is to ensure conditions in the field and then coordinate with the Black Cross to evacuate the bodies to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). At the hospital, visum et repertum was carried out to determine the cause of medical death," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Thursday, October 30, 2025.

The police chief said that the post-mortem procedure is a mandatory step in handling cases of finding bodies in public places.

"This is important to ensure that there are no indications of violence or criminal acts. All stages are carried out professionally and transparently," he said.

The case of the discovery of the body is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanah Abang Metro Police.

Meanwhile, the police are currently waiting for the results of the post-mortem from the RSCM to determine the next legal steps.
