The Cost Of Hajj 2026 Is Down, The DPR Wants Hajj Services To Continue To Be Improved

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII DPR RI as well as Member of the Hajj Working Committee (Panja), Maman Imanulhaq said the decrease in the Cost of Organizing Hajj (BPIH) in 1447 H/2026 AD by Rp2 million would not reduce the quality of Hajj services next year. According to him, the quality of Hajj services must continue to be improved.

"We at Panja Hajj strive so that the cost of Hajj remains rational, affordable, and does not burden the congregation, but services must continue to be improved," said Maman, Thursday, October 31.

According to Maman, the figures agreed by the DPR and the government are the result of a balance between the financial capacity of prospective pilgrims and improving the quality of Hajj services.

"Each cost component is carefully taken into account, including foreign exchange rate, accommodation, consumption, to congregational transportation in the Holy Land," he explained.

Maman also ensured that the DPR was committed to maintaining accountability so that the congregation's funds were actually used to improve services. He also emphasized the importance of openness to the public regarding the use of hajj funds.

"Transparency is the key so that people's funds are really managed with trust and professionalness," said Maman.

Maman also emphasized that the reduction in the cost of Hajj should not be interpreted as a decrease in service quality. He asked the government to continue to maintain service standards, both in terms of accommodation, worship guidance, and health facilities.

"Hajj is a spiritual journey as well as a reflection of the nation's governance. Therefore, improving services must be a priority," he said.

On the other hand, Maman reminded prospective pilgrims to prepare for the payment of the hajj fee according to the schedule set by the government, and complete the administrative requirements and health checks. He hopes that the implementation of the 2026 Hajj will run smoothly and provide a solemn worship experience.

"This decision is the result of the cooperation between the DPR and the Government which is oriented towards the interests of the people. We are committed to presenting a transparent, efficient, and just pilgrimage for all Indonesian pilgrims," concluded Maman.

As is known, the DPR and the Government officially set the Cost of Organizing Hajj (BPIH) in 2026 at IDR 87,409,366 per congregation. BPIH in 2026 decreased by IDR 2 million compared to 2025 which amounted to IDR 89.41 million per member of the congregation.

Meanwhile, the costs paid directly by the congregation or the cost of the pilgrimage (Bipih) also decreased by Rp. 1.23 million, from Rp. 55.43 million in 2025 to Rp. 54.19 million in 2026.

Then the remaining Rp33,215,000 is borne from the value of the benefits of the hajj funds managed by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
