The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Does Not Want To Report Bayu Widodo, Who Claims To Be Able To Handle RPTKA Cases, Ministry Of Manpower

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is ready to report Bayu Widodo Sugiarto who claims to be able to take care of the alleged extortion case in the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) to other law enforcement officers.

This was conveyed by the KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo when he was asked about the follow-up to Bayu, who had received money from several parties in the case of extortion in the management of RPTKA. He said that reporting could be done after investigators examined the results of the examination of Bayu and a number of parties.

Bayu is known to be examined as a witness on Friday, October 24. During the examination schedule, he was said to be a journalist.

The name Bayu has been caught extorting litigants at the KPK. From the search, he once asked Mindo Rosalina Manulang for Rp1 billion as Marketing Director of PT Anak Negeri in the bribery case for the construction of the SEA Games athlete's guesthouse in Palembang, South Sumatra in 2011.

"Later it will be studied and analyzed what kind of alleged actions were committed by WDD. Will it really fulfill the elements of a criminal act, then whether it is included in the elements of the alleged corruption crime, well, it will be studied later," Budi told reporters quoted on Thursday, October 30.

"If not, for example, the KPK can also coordinate supervision or deliver this case to other APHs who have the authority," he continued.

Budi said that the incident was that the party claimed to be able to take care of the case in the anti-corruption commission, actually not new goods and some had been processed by the police. So, he reminded all parties to be vigilant so as not to be deceived.

Because, said Budi, the alleged corruption handled by his institution was not carried out simply but based on the adequacy of evidence. In fact, the RPTKA case that is claimed to be handled by Widodo continues by naming a new suspect, namely Heri Sudarmanto as the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower.

"We at the same time ensure that there is no case management at the KPK. This means that this is the act of an individual who commits allegations of fraud that can carry out case management at the KPK to parties at the Ministry of Manpower," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK announced eight suspects in the extortion case for the processing of foreign workers' permits (TKA) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) for the 2019-2024 period.

Two of them were Suhartono and Haryanto who had served as Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower. They are suspected of having participated in the flow of extortion money from foreign workers whose value reached Rp53.7 billion.

Meanwhile, the other suspect is Wisnu Pramono as Director of PPTKA of the Ministry of Manpower; Devi Anggraeni as Coordinator of the PPTKA Feasibility Test for the period 2020-July 2024 then became Director of PPTKA for the period 2024-2025; Gatot Widiartono as Coordinator of Analysis and Control of Foreign Workers The Directorate of Control of the Use of Foreign Workers of the Ministry of Manpower; and Putri Citra Wahyoe, Jamal Shodiqin, and Alfa Eshad who are staff at the Directorate General of Binapenta and PPK.

Next, the KPK developed this case by ensnaring the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Heri Sudarmanto as the ninth suspect. The determination of the legal status is based on an investigation warrant (sprindik) issued in October.
