The Ministry Of Public Works Targets Government Buildings In Four Papuan DOBs To Be Functional 2027

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti targets government buildings in four new autonomy areas (DOB) of Papua to be functional in 2027.

The four DOBs in question are located in Southwest Papua, South Papua, Papua Mountains and Central Papua.

This was conveyed by Diana in accordance with a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk at the Ministry of Public Works office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 29.

"The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs asked about the progress of the four Papuan DOBs. Earlier, we conveyed that all of this progress is now underway, for the construction of the governor's building, the DPRD office and MRP (Papuan People's Assembly) of the four DOBs," said Diana.

"Yesterday we agreed that all the buildings must be completed and functionalized in 2027," he continued.

Diana explained that the construction of government buildings in Papua Mountains had just begun.

The reason is, there is a change in location from the one that has been determined previously.

"We report everything is progress and what has not been for the Papua Mountains. Because yesterday's Papua Mountains moved locations and after a meeting with Commission II and continued with the visit of the Minister (PU) of the Minister of Home Affairs and PKP at that time to Papua Mountains, finally the location has been determined," he said.

"Now we are completing the rehabilitation criteria (preparation of readiness criteria). If everything is complete, then we will follow up with planning documents and so on. Maybe later (development) will be carried out for Papua Mountains 2026," he continued.

Meanwhile, the other three Papuan DOBs, said Diana, are in progress and some are targeted to be completed in 2026.

"But for Southwest Papua, South Papua and Central Papua, there have been various progress, yes. Some have finished this year, some have reached 2026," explained Diana.

In addition to the construction of government buildings, he continued, the government will arrange areas in the four Papuan DOBs.

"The other addition is the land development with the arrangement of the area. That, right, the planning is done and later we just have to do the construction," explained Diana.

Menurut Diana, pembangunan gedung pemerintahan di keempat provinsi itu sudah dicanangkan sejak lama.

Namun demikian, ada pergeseran waktu dan pada akhirnya ditargetkan bisa fungsional pada dua tahun mendatang.

"Jadi, sebenarnya sudah lama dicanangkan dan kami itu (diberikan) waktu tiga tahun. Tapi, kan, bergeser, mudah-mudahan tadi disepakati tahun 2027 bisa berfungsi," pungkasnya.

According to Diana, the construction of government buildings in the four provinces has been launched for a long time.

However, there is a shift in time and in the end it is targeted to be functional in the next two years.

"So, it has actually been announced for a long time and we have (given) three years. But, right, shifted, hopefully it was agreed that in 2027 it could work," he concluded.
