Police Destroy 214 Tons Of Drugs, Witnessed By President Prabowo

JAKARTA - The National Police destroyed 214.84 tons of drug evidence worth Rp29.37 trillion in the one year period of government.

The destruction of drug evidence was witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto at Bhayangkara Field at the National Police Headquarters, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said, within a year the Prabowo-Gibran Rakabuming government, the National Police had uncovered more than 49 thousand drug cases with 65 thousand suspects.

"During the period from October 2024 to October 2025, the National Police revealed 49,306 drug cases involving 65,572 suspects, and confiscated various types of drugs with a total weight of 214.84 tons," said General Sigit.

The National Police Chief emphasized that the National Police will continue to prevent and eradicate drug trafficking that has a negative impact on the community, as part of President Prabowo's Asta Cita mission.

Sigit said the National Police would strengthen the prevention and eradication of drugs in order to achieve Indonesia Gold 2045. Because according to data from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), drug dealers are targeting the younger generation to be targeted.

"The prevalence of drug abusers in Indonesia has reached 3.3 million people, with the highest number of increases dominated by teenagers aged 15 to 24 years," he said.

In addition, said Sigit, the National Police has identified 228 Drug Villages throughout Indonesia, and 118 of them have been successfully transformed into Drug-Free Villages.

The evidence for drugs weighing a total of 214.84 tons which was destroyed consisted of 186.7 tons of marijuana, 9.2 tons of crystal methamphetamine, 1.9 tons of gorilla tobacco, 2.1 million pills of ecstasy.

Then 13.1 million pills of hard drugs, 27.9 kg of ketaminas, 34.5 kg of cocaine, 6.8 kg of heroin, 5.5 kg of THC, 18 liters of ethoRIDate, 132.9 kg of hashish, 1.4 million happy five pills, and 39.7 kg of happy water.

Meanwhile, the total amount of drug evidence that has been destroyed is 212.7 tons.

In accordance with the SOP which has been regulated in Article 91 paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, namely the destruction of narcotics confiscated goods is carried out no later than 7 days after obtaining the determination of the destruction of the head of the local public prosecutor.

"The rest of the evidence that will be destroyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia is 2.1 tons," said General Sigit.
