Allocate IDR 405 Billion For The PISEW Labor Intensive Program, Ministry Of Public Works Aims For 14,872 Workers
The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has allocated a budget of IDR 405 billion for the Labor-based Regional Socio-Economic Infrastructure Development Program (PISEW) this year.
The program was implemented in 676 locations with the hope of absorbing 14,872 local workers throughout Indonesia.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that labor-intensive programs are a tangible form of the government's alignment with the village community, as well as efforts to strengthen local economic foundations through infrastructure that are directly felt by the benefits.
According to him, PISEW is not just building roads or channels, but opening up space for rural communities to work, be empowered and increase economic value in their territory.
"Through a labor-intensive approach, the community is the main actor in development in its village," said Dody in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, October 29.
He added that the implementation of PISEW was directed to strengthen connectivity between villages, agricultural access and the development of productive economic zones.
"Improving access roads for agriculture, drainage and basic infrastructure is expected to facilitate the distribution of crops and strengthen the village economic chain towards national food self-sufficiency," he said.
One of the areas receiving the 2025 PISEW service is Baluk Village and Banyubiru Village in Negara District, Jembrana Regency, Bali Province, through activities to strengthen agricultural areas that are the economic base of the local community.
The scope of work includes work on the construction of concrete roads for farming businesses, the work of duiker plates and the construction of a retaining wall (DPT) with a contract value of Rp. 500 million through the 2025 State Budget.
The activity has started since August 25 and is targeted for completion on November 22, 2025.
The hope is that it will be able to improve the smooth mobility of agricultural products that are the main commodities in the region, such as rice, cocoa and coconut.
The infrastructure built is also expected to strengthen the resilience of the village economy through the efficiency of access to transportation.
Other areas that also benefit from the 2025 PISEW program are Karangmalang District, Sragen Regency, Central Java Province. In that area, construction is carried out in two bordering villages, namely Guworejo Village and Puro Village which have the potential for integrated and agropolitan agriculture.
