BSSN And PTPK Malaysia Strengthen Cyber Diplomacy In The Post-Quantum Era

JAKARTA - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) of the Republic of Indonesia received a visit from the delegation of the Malaysian Center for Technology and Cryptology Management (PTPKM).

This meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of cryptography and cybersecurity, particularly regarding readiness to face the Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) era.

Deputy for Cyber Security Operations and Sandi BSSN, Bondan Widiawan, said that this step reflects the spirit of technology Sovereignty, namely the independence of the state in maintaining and protecting vital digital infrastructure.

He also explained that BSSN has unified various information and cryptographic security functions that were previously spread across a number of institutions, as well as developed a more coordinated national cryptographic system.

Meanwhile, Amir said that Malaysia through CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) and PTPKM developed an integrated cryptographic security system that includes three main components, namely the Malaysian Secure Algorithm List (MySEAL) for a list of trusted algorithms, Malaysia Cryptographic Analysis and Evaluation (MyCANE) for analysis and evaluation, as well as State Trusted Cryptography Products (PKTN) for national cryptographic product certification.

This approach demonstrates Malaysia's seriousness in strengthening local capacity and reducing dependence on foreign providers.

Through this meeting, both parties agreed to be able to follow up on this meeting through joint training, exchange of experts, and the preparation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as the basis for long-term cooperation.

The collaboration between BSSN and PTPKM confirms that technical diplomacy in the field of cryptography is now an important instrument in maintaining strategic trust and building an ASEAN digital security ecosystem.
