A Year Prabowo Gibran, Minister Of Manpower Says He Has Opened 2 Million Jobs To The Internship Program
The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, explained the achievements and policy directions of the Ministry of Manpower during his one-year leadership and President Prabowo Gibran.
"We ensure that every policy and program of the Ministry of Manpower really benefits the community, both job seekers, workers, and the business world and this has become a mandate from President Prabowo Subianto," Yassierli said, quoted Wednesday, October 29.
Quoted from data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM. It was stated that the government managed to absorb 2 million workers through the entry of an investment of Rp1,434 trillion from January-September 2025.
"Data from the Ministry of Investment in September saw an increase in investment yoy 14 percent with an absorption of nearly 2 million workers," he continued.
During October 2024 to October 2025, the Ministry of Manpower also noted a number of important achievements in strengthening the national labor ecosystem.
These efforts were made through improving the quality of vocational training, expanding job opportunities, and strengthening protection for workers at home and abroad.
One of the flagship programs is the Batch 2 National Internship Program which targets 80,000 participants. This program will take place from November 24, 2025 to May 23, 2026 to strengthen relations between the world of education and the industrial world and increase the competitiveness of young workers.
"This internship program is not just a temporary placement, but a real step to building a bridge between competence and industrial needs," said Yassierli.
The Ministry of Manpower also continues to encourage the digital transformation of public services in the labor sector. The innovation includes strengthening the Job Market Center, developing One Employment Data Services, and increasing public access to training and competency-based certification.

In addition, the Ministry of Manpower strengthens tripartite cooperation between governments, employers, and trade unions. This collaboration is the key in building a just and sustainable labor system amidst rapid changes in the world of work.
"We cannot work alone. The success of employment policies can only be achieved through close collaboration between stakeholders," said Yassierli, who was accompanied by Secretary General Cris Kuntadi and other high-ranking Ministry of Manpower officials.
Closing his presentation, Yassierli emphasized that the policy direction of the Ministry of Manpower in 2026 will focus on national productivity transformation through competency-based training, labor certification, and strengthening the role of the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) in all regions.
