Cultural Dialogue Enters Public Hearing Room

JAKARTA The Indonesian Ministry of Culture launched the broadcast (podcast) of Cultural Affairs as a new channel for cultural dialogue that is closer to the public. The premiere episode airs this weekend on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Culture and Indonesiana TV. This program is scheduled to be present every week.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon appeared as the first resource person in a conversation for almost an hour with Minanty Ayu Rochantha. He explained the one-year journey of the Ministry of Culture, the direction of strategic policy, and the vision of strengthening the Indonesian cultural ecosystem.

"This Ministry of Culture was born for the first time in the history of the Republic of Indonesia independently. This shows the President's commitment that culture is the foundation of national development," said Menbud Fadli in a statement received Wednesday, October 29.

The Minister of Culture emphasized that Indonesia has cultural powers that other countries do not have. He calls it a mega-diversity perspective that Indonesia is not just diverse, but has cultural power that has the potential to become a cultural superpower.

"Indonesia is a cultural superpower. Culture unites and mobilizes the nation," he said.

In the inaugural broadcast, Fadli also revealed institutional achievements, such as the formation of three directorate generals, improving services for cultural actors, to expanding programs targeting contemporary culture: film, literature, music, and digital space.

Ia menyebut siniar Kulturasi akan menjadi sarana pemerintah berdialog lebih intens dengan masyarakat. Setiap episode akan melibatkan pelaku budaya, peneliti, artis, dan tokoh publik membahas isu eksual kebudayaan, termasuk diplomai budaya, penguatan ekosistem kreatif, hingga repatriasi koleksi penting dari luar negeri.

"Culturality is the space for sharing ideas and the future of Indonesian culture," concluded the Minister of Culture.
