Tips For Maintaining Body Hydration In The Middle Of Extreme Heat Weather

JAKARTA - Maintaining the balance of body fluids is important to maintain health, especially in the midst of an increasing heat temperature in recent times.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning regarding extreme hot weather in the southern region of Indonesia. The maximum recorded temperature reached 37.6 degC, influenced by the pseudo-solar movement and the Australian Monsun. This condition is expected to continue until early November 2025.

"This position makes the central and southern parts of Indonesia, such as Java, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, and Papua, receive more intense sunlight so that the weather feels hotter in many parts of Indonesia," explained Guswanto, Deputy for Meteorology BMKG.

Sufficient hydration helps maintain the function of vital organs, stability of body temperature, and concentration. Lack of fluids or dehydration can reduce endurance, cause fatigue, and affect the function of the heart and kidneys.

Therefore, ensuring that the body remains hydrated is a simple but very important step, especially when the hot weather hits.

According to dr. Yhan Batista, SpPD, from Hermina Hospital Karawang, dehydration is the result of extreme heat that most needs to be anticipated.

"The high temperature and low humidity can cause the body to lose a lot of fluids through sweat, thereby increasing the risk of dehydration," he explained.

In this case, adequate and quality water intake plays an important role in keeping the body in shape. Not only paying attention to the amount of water you drink, but the quality of water must also be ensured to be safe for consumption.

Astrid Adelaide Siregar, Head of Marketing Amidis, explains that water going through a good screening and purification process can help ensure cleanliness and safety for the body.

"Through the latest multifiltration and distillation technology, Amid ensures that every drop of water consumed is free from chemical contaminants, microorganisms, and other harmful substances," he said.

The distillation process is carried out by heating water up to more than 110$C to produce pure vapor which is then condensed back into ready-to-drink water.

"The result is water with a purity of 0 PPM which is contaminant-free, so it is safe to consume," added Astrid.

In the midst of dense activity and hot temperatures, maintaining fluid intake is something that cannot be delayed. To support healthy living habits, various drinking water products are now present in practical packaging according to the needs of the community.

"There are gallons with a capacity of 15 liters with Double Protection, namely the seal on the top cap and the smart lock feature (anti spilled), to keep the water hygienic and prevent leakage. There are also 19 liters of gallon for family needs at home," explained Astrid.

For individuals who often do outdoor activities, there are also measures of 220 ml, 600 ml, 1500 ml, and 5 liters that make it easier for people to maintain hydration anytime and anywhere.

"So, remember not to swallow raw and think carefully, choose quality drinking water," he added.

Susilo Gunadi, Commercial Director of PT Amidis Tirta Mulia, added that the company's commitment is to provide drinking water that is safe and easily accessible to the public.

"Amidis is drinking water that has been cooked, we always make sure Indonesian families get the best quality water that helps maintain optimal health in their daily lives that are easy to get," he said.
