Because The Dasbor Screen Disappeared, Hundreds Of Thousands Of Jeeps Were Examined By US Regulators

JAKARTA The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into hundreds of thousands of Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator units after receiving dozens of reports regarding the failure of the suddenly dead instrument cluster function. This failure has the potential to trigger a large-scale recall.

Preliminary Investigation (Preliminary Evaluation) opened by the NHTSA Defect Investigative Office (ODI) includes more than 230,000 units of Jeep Wrangler and the 2020 model Gladiator.

Fuel And Safety Information Indicators Are Missing

NHTSA launched this investigation after receiving 89 complaints from vehicle owners. The driver reported that their dashboard screen died partially or completely while in use.

The most serious impact of this failure is the loss of fuel indicators on the screen, leaving drivers unaware of the remaining fuel they have. In addition to discomfort, the loss of important safety data poses a serious risk.

Reporting from Carscoops, Tuesday, October 28, ODI noted that the sudden failure of the instrument cluster could distract drivers from driving tasks, potentially causing vehicle accidents.

Currently, a total of 232,209 units of Jeep Wrangler and the 2020 model Gladiator are being investigated. The NHTSA stated that until now, they have not received reports of any accidents, fires, or injuries related to this issue. The investigation is still in its early stages and the status of the recall will depend on the findings of federal investigators.
