Sony Prepares First 200MP Camera To Challenge Samsung

Soy is reportedly preparing to launch their first mobile camera sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels, which will be named LYT-910. This sensor is said to be a direct competitor to Samsung's ISOCELL line.

According to a report from the FeniBook technology leak, the LYT-910 sensor is 1/1.11 inches of individual pixel size 0.7 micrometers. This sensor is capable of producing 200MP and 50MP resolution photos through pixel binning technology. In addition, this sensor also supports 2x and 4x lossless zoom features through image cutting techniques within the sensor (in-sensor crop).

The main advantage of LYT-910 is said to lie in the capabilities of HDR which is superior to the Samsung sensor, with the dynamic range (dynamic range) reaching more than 100 pieces (db). In addition, this sensor also supports 4K video recording up to 120 FPS, as well as 8K to 30 FPS with HDR support.

When compared to Samsung's 200MP sensor such as ISOCELL HP1 and HP2, this new sensor from Sony looks more attractive on paper. ISOCELL HP1 measures 1/1.22 inches, while ISOCELL HP2 is slightly smaller with a size of 1/1.4 inches.

There is no definite information on when Sony LYT-910 will be officially announced, but rumors say that this sensor is likely to debut next year at OPPO Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra.

Both phones are expected to rely on these new sensors to bring a significant increase in photo and video quality. Although there has been no official confirmation from Sony, the presence of this 200MP sensor shows the Japanese company's seriousness in challenging Samsung's dominance in the premium mobile camera sensor market.
