Toxic Smoke Fog Covers The City Of Lahore, Breaks The Hazardous Level For Health!
JAKARTA - The city of Lahore in Pakistan was shrouded in thick smog for three days, which saw air quality plummet to a dangerous level for body health. The city's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 412, triggering health warnings.
This also encourages the provincial government to carry out massive control of various sources of pollution.
Residents are advised to avoid non-essential outdoor activities, especially in the morning and evening, and wear masks when outside the house.
Quoted from Dawn, on Monday, October 27, 2025, the concentration of PM2.5 in the air of Lahore was recorded several times above the global safe threshold. This can increase the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, especially for children and the elderly.
"Smog fog is a serious environmental and public health issue, requires collective and coordinated efforts to overcome it," said Project Coordinator, Dr. Younus Zahid.
Therefore, the Damel Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued high warnings in all eastern districts of the province, including Lohore, Gujranwala, Shekhupura, Kasur, Nankanamen, Faisabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Khanpur.
PDMA Director-General, Irfan Ali Kathia, also reminded that the intensity of the smog is expected to continue to increase from November to mid-December, based on estimates from the Meteorological Department.
