Ministry Of Culture Calls Indonesian Music Advancement Team Filled With Volunters

JAKARTA - The 2025 Indonesian Music Conference (KMI) which was held in Jakarta on 8-11 October is one of the programs run by the Ministry of Culture (Kemenbud) in one year of service.

Deputy Minister of Culture (Wamenbud) Giring Ganesha said the work team had been formed not long after the conference was over. Those in the Indonesian Music Advancement Team are voters who have been involved in the music ecosystem.

"On Tuesday (October 14), after the conference was over, we immediately created a working team containing friends from the (music) ecosystem involved from several days of the conference," said Giring at the Bincang with the Minister of Culture: One Year Culture Ministry in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, October 24.

"And we invite them as vouchers, according to their respective fields," he continued.

Some areas that are the focus of the work team, including education, traditional music, data collection, and policies to build venues for performances.

"But there is one thing we have to do first before all roads even though they have determined where they want a volunter where we have to be able to answer the big question, which is how much is the economic value of the existing music ecosystem," said Giring.

"Therefore, we are discussing with several research companies, and there are also some data that have been released by several brands about the music ecosystem in Southeast Asia, but it is not yet precise in Indonesia. Therefore, we will work together with independent research institutions to be able to assess the total," he continued.

Furthermore, Giring emphasized that KMI 2025 has declared the importance of valid data regarding the economic value of the Indonesian music ecosystem.

However, of all the things achieved from the conference, Giring said, Kemenbud is just a dynamicator for the necessary policies, where the voters will play an active role in advancing the national music ecosystem.

"We are lucky that this working team from KMI contains friends from the music ecosystem, which is volatile, to help improve the music ecosystem," he said.
