BI Says Jakarta's Economic Future Is In The Services, Creative, And Digital Sector

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Ricky Perdana Gozali said that the future of DKI Jakarta's economic growth is in the service and creative economy (ekraf) and digital sectors.

"More than 56 percent of Jakarta's economy grew from this sector and that's where Jakarta's future lies," he said at the opening of the Jakarta Economic Forum (JEF) 2025 in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, October 25.

According to him, Jakarta is not only the center of Indonesia's economy and finance, but also the heart of the service-based economy, the creative economy, innovative and digital.

In addition, he added that the Jakarta Economic Forum is a tangible manifestation of all commitments to drive the Jakarta economy through collaborative, creativity and participation actions, as well as voicing optimism for the people of Jakarta.

He said that in the second quarter of 2025 Jakarta's economy grew 5.18 percent and this figure was above national economic growth.

In addition, the inflation rate in Jakarta is relatively stable at 2.4 "year on year" (yoy). This position is also below national inflation.

In addition, digital transaction growth continues and has even reached 183 percent at 2.24 billion digital transactions.

"These are all collaborations of all parties so that the economy continues to grow," he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said that JEF 2025 is not just a discussion room, but a strategic forum to formulate collaborative policy directions and steps in strengthening Jakarta's position as a global city that is advanced, competitive, and economic justice.

He said Jakarta's continued positive economic growth, controlled inflation, and increased investment were clear evidence of the strength of the collaboration.

In addition, digitalization is also an important pillar in the transformation of Jakarta, including through the implementation of market digitization and payment systems such as QRIS which aims to increase efficiency and community welfare.

"JEF 2025 is expected to increase economic growth and stability in the DKI Jakarta area so that it can provide benefits to all people of DKI Jakarta," he said.
