Established For A Year, Ministry Of Culture Steps On National Cultural Acceleration Gas
The Ministry of Culture held a Bincang with the Minister of Culture: One Year the Ministry of Culture together with dozens of media crews at the Lake Sentani Restaurant, Senayan Park, Jakarta, Friday, October 24. This event has been a reflection of the institution's one-year journey since it was officially established on October 21, 2024.
During the meeting, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of quick and measurable steps in accelerating national cultural progress. "Recording of the new cultural heritage is 228. We are targeting to increase by 60 years and re-verify it to 300," he said.
Fadli also highlighted the importance of increasing the number of museums in Indonesia. Currently, there are 481 museums, and the Ministry of Culture is targeting significant additions. In one year I have inaugurated 15 new museums. We continue to encourage the number to increase," he said. The ministry also encourages the Draft Law to be discussed immediately in the DPR.
In addition to protecting cultural heritage, Fadli explained the success of repatriation of historical artifacts. "We have just repatriated around 30,000 artifacts from the research of Eugène Dubois. This is an important part of the narrative that ancient human civilization began in the archipelago," he said.
The Ministry of Culture has also strengthened cross-sectoral collaboration through public-private partnerships. "With constraints, we build a spirit of mutual cooperation. Public participation is very important because if we rely solely on the state budget, it is certainly not enough," he explained.
Regarding the writing of national history, Fadli revealed that the script is now entering the final stages of editing and will be tested by the public before it is launched on December 14, coinciding with National History Day.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha added that the results of the Indonesian Music Conference (KMI) will be followed up with the formation of a Joint Working Team for the Advancement of the Indonesian Music Ecosystem. "This team will collect data to measure the value of the Indonesian music economy," he said.
In closing, Fadli emphasized that Indonesia's cultural wealth is extraordinary and needs to be maintained together. There are 2,213 intangible cultural heritages, 500 more will soon be established. Sixteen have been recognized by UNESCO, and three more will be proposed Tempe, Makyong, and Jaranan,' he said.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Culture will continue to strengthen the foundations of an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable cultural ecosystem. "Everyone needs cross-party cooperation so that culture really becomes the strength of the nation," concluded Fadli Zon.
