In The Midst Of Estevoo's Shining, There Are Still Questions About Goalkeepers: Want To Recruit Ter Stegen?
JAKARTA - Chelsea's decision to disburse large funds for Estevoo Willian has proven to be correct. This Brazilian winger broke the record for the Blues.
The 18-year-old scored the club's youngest goal in the Champions League when he contributed one goal in a 5-1 win over Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, October 23, 2025, early morning WIB.
In May 2024, Chelsea approved an initial deal of 29 million pounds (approximately IDR 640.6 billion) with Brazilian club Palmeiras for Estevoo.
The winger was only 17 years old at the time and joined Enzo Maresca's side in the summer of 2025.
Estevoo has made nine appearances for Brazil, scored three goals, and his performance is improving with Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca put the Brazilian teenager on the right side of the striker's three-form in a 4-3-3 formation.
Estevoo looked stunning for Chelsea, especially in the match against Ajax. In fact, The Sun reported that the Blues had found a new Eden Hazard.
The teenager scored from point 12 just in the first half injury time after he was fouled in the penalty box.
Estevoo's shot made him Chelsea's youngest goal scorer in the Champions League at 18 years 181 days.
It was also the third record that the Brazilian winger broke this season.
"He's an 18-year-old Brazilian young player full of confidence. The entire Stamford Bridge was silent watching him."
"He was not in a hurry, ran far, bit stuck, and his shot hit the top right corner of the net."
"It's easy to take a 3-1 lead, but he's 18 at a new club. It's a fantastic penalty," said former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole, was also impressed by Estevoo's appearance.
"He made it, he managed to get into the top penalty box! He will really enjoy it. I am very enthusiastic to watch it," Cole said at TNT Sports.
Although Estevoo quickly established himself as an important player for Chelsea, there were still questions about the goalkeeper's position.
Filip Jorgensen started for Chelsea against Ajax, with Robert Sanchez on the bench.
Launching TEAMtalk, the goalkeeper's position is now the only weak point for the Blues. Not surprisingly, there was heavy news that Chelsea were interested in recruiting new goalkeepers.
On October 14, 2025, leaked about Chelsea's desire to recruit Mike Maignan next summer when he is free of transfer after his contract with AC Milan expires.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen has also been linked. Although the Barcelona goalkeeper could be a loan option, there are two main obstacles to reaching an agreement in January 2026.
"It's no surprise that Chelsea are considering borrowing Ter Stegen for the second half of the season."
"They want to make sure they are ready to face important moments and of course don't want to lose such a key position, which has already become a concern."
"Obviously, he will be flooded with offers, so competing to get a place may not be something that interests him. The salary situation can also be considered."
"However, Chelsea will try to sign Maignan permanently. That will happen in the summer. So, getting Ter Stegen in the short term for now could be an option."
"It is clear that the move from Barcelona is in sight. Chelsea is clearly interested in him lately and will be fully informed of the situation before making a decision," wrote TEAMtalk.
