GIS Supply 98,000 Tons Of Cement For Serang - Panimbang Toll Road Construction
JAKARTA - The Serang - Panimbang Toll Road is one of the national priority projects in 2026 which has the full support of the government. This National Strategic Project (PSN) is targeted to be able to operate thoroughly in 2027, so that it can become a stimulus for new economic growth in Banten Province, especially Central and South Banten. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) contributed to the construction of the Serang Panimbang toll road by supplying 98,000 tons of cement until September 2025.
SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, the contribution to the Serang Panimbang Toll Road project reinforces SIG's commitment to continue to be part of the success of national infrastructure development, as well as support the acceleration of economic growth and equity to remote areas.
"SIG is proud to be able to contribute to the Serang Panimbang toll road project which will support the economic movement of Banten. The toll roads that cross 4 regencies/cities include Serang City, Serang Regency, Lebak Regency, and Pendeglang Regency will open access to rural areas, as well as facilitate community mobility and goods to reduce logistics costs," said Vita Mahreyni, in her statement, Friday, October 24.
Crossing 83.67 km, the Serang - Panimbang Toll Road is divided into 3 Sections including Section 1 Serang Rangkasbitung (26.5 km) which has been operating since December 2021, as well as Section 2 Rangkasbitung - Cileles (24.17 km) and Section 3 Cileles - Panimbang (33 km) which are still under construction. The presence of this toll road will reduce travel time from Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) to Central and South Banten which was originally 3-4 hours to only 1 - 2 hours.
The existence of the Serang Panimbang Toll Road will also facilitate access to the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Panimbang, Pandeglang, Banten District. The first tourism SEZ has various tourism potentials, ranging from the natural beauty of the beach, the diversity of flora and fauna, as well as the richness of culture. This ease of access will make the Tanjung Lesung SEZ an alternative to tourist destinations so as to encourage the number of visitors, support the progress of MSMEs, and absorb labor,
Vita Mahreyni added that SIG supplies UltraPro cement which has proven to be solid in supporting the construction of various national projects, such as the Jakarta International Stadium, Trans Sumatra Toll Road, Semarang - Demak Toll Road, Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road, Yogyakarta International Airport, Thamrin Nine Highrise Building, Fast Train
