Principal Of SMAN 6 Kerinci Slapping Students Ends Dismissal, Jambi Education Office: Learning Is Normal

JAKARTA - The Jambi Province Education Office (Disdik) finally dismissed the Head of SMAN 6 Kerinci Regency from his position following a demonstration some time ago by students at the school.

"We have examined and imposed a sentence in the form of dismissal of Azwardi from his position as principal," said the Head of the SMA Development of the Provincial Education Office, Sumantri, in Jambi City, Friday, as reported by Antara.

He explained that the dismissal was based on the results of a team agreement from the Jambi Provincial Education Office, Personnel Agency, and Inspectorate.

Based on the results of the examination, the village head was proven to have taken disciplinary actions, such as skipping work and not carrying out coaching patterns and managerial duties in accordance with his main duties and functions.

Sumantri explained, to ensure activities in the education unit, the provincial government has appointed a deputy principal in the Azuari curriculum as a substitute. After the replacement, the teaching and learning process at the school has been running normally as usual.

"It's conducive, the lessons have been running normally, the former Kepsek is free of duty," he said.

The Head of Assessment of Administrative and Award Performance (PKAP) of the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) of Jambi province, Hariyanto, added, based on the results of clarification and examination in accordance with the rules of Government Regulation (PP) 94 of 2021, the principal fulfills the element of violation.

He emphasized that the principal was considered to have injured the personnel regulations, considering that from the results of the report he often missed work and did not carry out coaching programs, including carrying out supervision and coordination functions.

"The demands for changing school principals do not only come from students, teachers there (SMAN 6 Kerinci) want the same thing," he said.
