The Face Of A Bike Thief In Kembangan Is Embedded In The Banner, The Initiative Of The RT

JAKARTA - Residents put on the faces of two people suspected of stealing a bicycle on a large banner on Jalan H. Sodon, RT 009 RW 003, South Meruya, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The banner was installed as a warning, complete with the physical characteristics of the alleged perpetrator and an appeal for residents to report to the RT if they see the two perpetrators.

The head of RT 003 RW 009 Meruya Selatan, Pijai Sapudin in Jakarta, Thursday, explained that the banner was purely his initiative to be upset by the theft in his area.

"That's my own initiative. At first I tried to coordinate with the victim, did you want to make a report to the police station? The victim said, 'no need'," he said.

According to him, the banner was a social sanction and a deterrent effect so that the perpetrators would no longer return to their environment. Although the loss suffered by the victim was only around Rp. 1 million, the theft disturbed the residents.

"It's not big, but it's still disturbing. The point is, I want to know who the culprit is, as a social sanction for the perpetrators, so that he doesn't commit crimes in my environment," he said.

Pijai said that the two perpetrators had only launched an action in their environment for the first time and were not residents of RT 009.

With the banner, he said, people are reluctant to commit crimes in their environment. The Buru Sergap (Buser) team from the Kembangan Police had visited the scene on Thursday morning.

"Alhamdulillah, it is very useful (the guide). This morning around 10.30 WIB there was a Buser team from the Kembangan Police to the TKP (Place of Cases)," he said.

According to him, the police came to conduct a crime scene investigation and identify the perpetrator's face after the information on the theft and banner went viral on social media.

Pijai also hopes that with a follow-up from the police, this case can be revealed soon and the perpetrators can be arrested.

In the viral surveillance camera footage, the incident that occurred on Tuesday (21/10) shows the female perpetrator carrying a baby in her arms and sitting on a motorbike.

Meanwhile, the male perpetrator pretended to call and enter the alley, then launched a bicycle theft. It appears that the bicycle is parked without security on the side of the wall, along with a number of motorbikes belonging to residents living in the alley.

After successfully getting the bicycle that was targeted, the husband fled with the bicycle, while his wife fled on a motorbike.
