Usyk's Career Is Less Perfect If He Refuses To Fight Parker

JAKARTA The journey of the heavyweight world champion's undisputed career, Oleksandr Usyk, is considered less perfect if he refuses a mandatory fight against Joseph Parker.

Parker and Fabio Wardley are scheduled to have a fight this weekend at the O2 Arena, London, England. The winner of the duel will undergo a mandatory match for the WBO versus Usyk belt.

Davidploy, Parker promoter, said that Usyk should accept the fight against his client if he wants to end his boxing career perfectly.

"If he doesn't fight Parker, I'd think he hasn't faced all the best fighters of his era yet."

Usyk is the undisputed world heavyweight champion twice and has always come out victorious in 24 professional fights.

In addition to controlling the heavyweight class, the gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympics also won the undisputed title of champion when he was still fighting in cruiserweight.

In the heavyweight class, he was recorded as having beaten names like Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and also Daniel Dubois. He defeated the three names on two occasions each of them.

Orang said that Parker is one of the best names in today's heavyweights so Usyk should accept the challenge of strengthening his status as the best.

"Parker must be very confident that he can beat Usyk. So, this will be an extraordinary fight if it happens," he said.

A mandatory duel for the WBO belt is likely to happen next year. Parker certainly has to win against Wardley if he doesn't want his chance to challenge Usyk to leave.

However, Usyk has the option to vacate the WBO belt if he doesn't want to maintain the undisputed world title he can fight Dubois in July 2025.
