Claiming To Be Hacked, Victim's Family Makes Fake Reports So That Medical Care Is Borne By BPJS

JAKARTA - A young man who was reported to have been the victim of a beating on Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, turned out to be involved in a brawl. This fact was revealed after the Menteng Metro Police investigation into reports from residents who initially admitted to cases of abuse.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Menteng Police, AKP Khusni Munandar, explained that the first report was received by his party from residents who said there was a stabbing around the scene. However, when questioned, the residents' statements seemed complicated and inconsistent.

"From the search results, we found someone being treated at the RSCM because of the stab wound. After being investigated, it turned out that the victim herself was part of the group involved in the brawl," said Khusni, Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Furthermore, the victim's family had tried to make a false report on the grounds that the victim's medical expenses could be borne by BPJS.

"The victim's family made a report as if the victim was a beating, but in fact the victim joined the brawl," he explained.

Based on the victim's statement, the police finally hunted down the main perpetrator of the brawl with the initials MS (22). The man is known to be driving the group because he is the most senior member of the perpetrators, some of whom are still 15'17 years old.

MS was arrested a day after clashes broke out in front of the PPP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro. From the hands of the perpetrators, the police confiscated a 75-centimeter sickle that had been hidden in an empty house.

As a result of his actions, MS was charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings and the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 related to possession of sharp weapons. The police are also still investigating the possibility of other perpetrators involved in the brawl.
