Involved In Salemba Rutan Narcotics Network, Ammar Zoni Charged With Layered Articles With The Threat Of Severe Punishment

JAKARTA Actor Ammar Zoni along with five other defendants underwent the first trial of the alleged possession and circulation of narcotics at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, October 23.

During the trial, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged Ammar Zoni and his colleagues with multiple articles, revealing their role in the distribution network of methamphetamine which was allegedly controlled from inside the Salemba Detention Center (Rutan).

The other five defendants who sat in the prison seats were Asep, Ardian Prasetyo, Andi Mualim, Ade Candra Maulana, and Muhammad Rivaldi.

In the primary indictment, the Public Prosecutor charged the defendants with heavy articles, namely as intermediaries in the sale and purchase of class one narcotics. This shows that they are suspected of being part of an organized drug trafficking network, not just users.

"Doing criminal acts of probation or conspiracy without rights or against the law offers to sell, sell, buy, accept, become intermediaries for buying and selling, exchanging, or delivering class one narcotics," said the public prosecutor when reading the indictment.

In the indictment, it was stated that Ammar Zoni's role was revealed on December 31, 2024. He allegedly received 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine from someone named Andre, who is still a fugitive (DPO). The narcotics was then divided into two, with 50 grams handed over to the defendant Muhammad Rivaldi for distribution in the detention center.

In addition to Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Narcotics Law, the Public Prosecutor has also prepared a subsidiary indictment related to narcotics possession of more than 5 grams.

"Without rights or against the law, owning, storing, controlling, or providing narcotics class one, not plants weighing more than 5 grams," continued the prosecutor, referring to Article 112 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The panel of judges then determined that the trial would continue on November 6, 2025, with the agenda of reading the objection note (exception) from the defendants against the indictment filed by the prosecutor.
