Don't Consider This A Trivial, These Are Symptoms Of Strokes That Young People Must Watch Out For
JAKARTA - Strokes have been known as more common diseases in the elderly. However, in reality, stroke is also increasingly attacking people who are still young.
These changes can occur, one of which is because they are influenced by lifestyle. The lifestyle of today's young people is often or lack of physical activity.
Young people also tend to have stress problems, migraine sleep disorders (sleep apnea), substance abuse, depression, and exposure to environmental pollution that can arise as the main cause of stroke in younger people.
According to a senior neurology consultant, Dr Shiva Kumar R, lifestyles can be significantly changed to a better one to reduce the risk of stroke. Starting from eating healthy to exercising regularly.
"Maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, avoiding tobacco and alcohol is excessive, managing stress, and controlling chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension are the main prevention strategies," Doctor Shiva was quoted as saying by the Times of India, on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
In addition, young people must also start to realize the symptoms of stroke so that they can be detected early and get treatment faster if they occur. This is because the symptoms of stroke in young people are often considered trivial because they are similar to ordinary diseases, as below.
1. Suddenly numb or weak
Suddenly feeling stiffness or weakness must be watched out for, especially if it occurs on one side of the body, which affects the face, arms, or legs. These symptoms can be in the form of a saturated mouth or the inability to remove the arms completely.
2. Vision problems
The problem of vision that occurs is not considered normal, because it can be a sign of a stroke. Visibility of blurred, multiple vision, or loss of temporary vision in one eye or both eyes must be watched out for.
3. Severe headache
Severe headaches can also be a symptom of a stroke, especially if it happens suddenly. This is sometimes accompanied by vomiting and dizziness.
