JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) revealed that the results of the prosecution of illegal cigarettes and narcotics until September 2025 showed positive performance, especially in terms of effectiveness.

Head of the Sub-Directorate for Public Relations and Customs and Counseling, Budi Prasetiyo explained that until September 2025, the prosecution of illegal cigarettes had reached 816 million sticks and narcotics prosecution reached 11.1 tons.

He added that the prosecution of illegal cigarettes was dominated by machine kretek cigarettes (SKM) and machine white cigarettes (SPM) that were not attached to excise stamps (liquitous cigarettes), while narcotics prosecution was dominated by methamphetamine and marijuana.

"The results of this action show that the supervision of Customs and Excise is a form of effort to protect the public and secure the national economy from illegal goods and smuggling," he said in his statement, Thursday, October 23.

Budi emphasized that the achievements of this acceptance and supervision were carried out by Customs and Excise through intensive cooperation with ministries/agencies and other law enforcement officers.

"We thank all parties, especially the community, for their work in supporting the performance of the APBN from the customs and excise sector," he said.

The realization of revenues from the customs and excise sector until September 2025 reached IDR 221.3 trillion or 73.4 percent of the target of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). This realization grew by 7.1 percent (yoy) driven by receipts from export and excise duties.

"In general, customs and excise revenues are able to grow driven by increased import activity of capital goods and investment, as well as maintaining excise production of tobacco products," he said.
