President Trump Says US Never Approved Ukraine's Use Of Long-range Missiles
JAKARTA - President Donald Trump said on Wednesday news reports about the United States giving Ukraine approval to use long-range missiles against Russia were fake, adding the US "has nothing to do with the missiles."
The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed US officials reporting on Wednesday, President Trump's Administration has lifted restrictions on the use of several Ukrainian long-range missiles provided by Western allies.
President Trump said in Truth Social news in the Wall Street Journal about "US approval of Ukraine to be allowed to use long-range missiles to Russia" was fake.
"The US has nothing to do with those missiles, from wherever they come from, or whatever Ukraine does with them!", added President Trump, cited from Reuters, October 23.
Ukraine is known to rely on Western missiles to confront Russia in the war that has been going on since 2022. Recently, Ukraine hopes to get the Tomahawk missile for the US, which is directly responded to with a firm warning from Russia.
President Trump said Uncle Sam's country could not shortage its Tomahawak cruise missile supplies by supplying it to Ukraine, insisting its country also needed the missile.
President Trump noted that the issue of the US Tomahawk missile supply to Ukraine had been discussed in a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone call last Thursday.
