First Trial Of Ammar Zoni Drug Case Held Online, Defendant Asks For Face-to-Face Trial

The defendants in the narcotics trafficking case at the Salemba Rutan, Central Jakarta, namely celebrity Ammar Zoni and his friends (dkk) asked to be presented in person during the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN).

"We ask to be presented offline," said Ammar Zoni before reading the indictment at the Central Jakarta District Court, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, October 23.

Ammar Zoni said that he had undergone an online trial and the results did not match what they should have.

For this reason, Ammar Zoni asked the Central Jakarta District Court Panel of Judges to present himself and his friends at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Ammar Zoni admitted that he would reveal all the information needed by the Panel of Judges.

"Everyone agreed to be 'offline' (offline). We will give anything, because if it is in the District Court, we will open everything," he said.

Ammar Zoni admitted that the news against him was not in accordance with the facts and for that he hoped to restore his big name.

"Because I think the news is not in accordance with the facts. I brought my name, we want to be presented 'offline', so that everyone can see," he said.

Previously, the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) held the inaugural hearing of Ammar Zoni and his friends online because the defendants are currently in Nusakambangan Prison.

"This trial is open and open to the public," said Central Jakarta District Court Chief Judge Dwi Elyarahma Sulistiyowati in Jakarta, Thursday, when opening the first trial with an indictment agenda.

It appears that a trial with an indictment agenda against Ammar Zoni and others is ongoing and the trial begins at 10.20 WIB.

The six defendants were not present in person in the courtroom, they attended the inaugural trial via zoom or online connection.

At this trial, there was only legal counsel from the defendant Ammar Zoni, while others were given legal assistance, because the criminal threat was more than 15 years.

"There is only legal counsel from defendant six (Ammar Zoni), for that we appoint legal counsel for other defendants," said the judge.
