Good News! Honorary Teacher Incentives Increase To IDR 400 Thousand Starting Next Year

JAKARTA - Good news comes for non-SASN (honorary) teachers throughout Indonesia. Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti announced that honorary teacher incentives will increase by IDR 100,000 to IDR 400,000 per month starting in 2026.

"We increase the allowance for honorary teachers or incentives, so starting next year honorary teachers will get an incentive of IDR 400,000 per month," Minister Abdul Mu'ti told reporters at the Ministry of Education and Culture office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 22.

Unlike the previous scheme, next year the incentives will be transferred directly to the personal accounts of the teachers. Previously, funds were channeled through local governments, which often pose bureaucratic obstacles.

"The allowance was transferred directly to the accounts of each teacher. This is a breakthrough in order to provide bureaucratic services that are not bureaucratic," he explained.

This increase in incentives will target around 300,000 honorary teachers. This step is part of the government's commitment to improving the welfare of educators, especially those who are not yet ASN.

Over the past seven months in 2025, the Ministry of Education and Culture has disbursed funds amounting to IDR 736.31 billion to 347,383 honorary teachers. Each teacher received IDR 2.1 million which was paid once in July 2025.

"This year for seven months was given once in July," he said.

Mu'ti said that this policy could not be separated from the support of the DPR, especially Commission X, which has approved the addition of a budget for non-ASN teachers.

"These are breakthroughs that we can thank God for starting this year and the years to come," he concluded.
