150,000 Teachers Will Get A Lecture Scholarship Of IDR 6 Million Per Year From The Ministry Of Education And Culture
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has prepared a scholarship program for 150,000 educators throughout Indonesia next year. Each beneficiary teacher will receive tuition assistance of IDR 6 million per year or IDR 3 million per semester.
Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti said that this scholarship program is intended for teachers who do not yet have a D4 or S1 degree.
"Next year we will allocate scholarships for 150,000 teachers who have not yet D4 or S1," said Mu'ti at the Ministry of Education and Culture office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 22.
He explained that this policy is a continuation of this year's scholarship program which was given to 12,500 teachers. The scholarship recipients have now started attending lectures through the Lampau Learning Recognition System (RPL).
"For the first time, the ministry provides scholarships for 12,500 teachers who have not D4 or S1 each Rp 3 million per semester," he said.
Mu'ti said the budget for the scholarship was guaranteed in the 2026 State Budget. If calculated, the total scholarship value prepared will reach around Rp. 900 billion per year.

In addition to scholarships for college, the Ministry of Education and Culture also continues to expand the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program. This year, it is targeted that 600,000 teachers will take part in PPG, while in 2026 the number will increase to around 808,000 teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Culture has also prepared various trainings for teachers, including in-depth learning training, coding and artificial intelligence (AI), counseling guidance (BK), and increased competence according to their respective fields of study.
