Presiden Prabowo Hadiri KTT APEC, Kemlu: Tegaskan Peran Indonesia Dalam Membangun Ekonomi Asia Pacific

JAKARTA - Indonesia's presence at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC) later this month in Gyeongju, South Korea emphasized Indonesia's role in building an economy in the region, said Ambassador Abdul Kadir Jailani.

Speaking in a press statement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Ambassador Kadir said President Prabowo Subianto is planned to attend the APEC Summit which will be held on October 31 - November 1, 2025 in South Korea.

"President Prabowo plans to attend the summit with 20 other APEC economic leaders," said the Director General of Asia, Pacific and African Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Wednesday, October 22.

The Ambassador Kadir further explained that carrying the theme "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper", the Summit which was held under the Chairmanship of South Korea will focus on how to build a future that not only sees the country's economic progress, but also sees the importance of a sustainable aspect of justice," said Ambassador Kadir, who has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Germany.

Through this theme, he continued, South Korea will raise two main issues in the future, namely artificial intelligence (AI) and demographic changes.

"Indonesia's presence has a strategic meaning, especially to convey views and ideas in determining regional cooperation, in overcoming the challenges of using AI and demographic changes," said Ambassador Kadir.

It is known that the APEC Summit this time will be held at the Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center.
