TB Check Held In Pangkalpinang, 5,317 Residents Examined 658 Tested Positive
JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) stated that 5,317 local city residents had undergone tuberculosis (TB) examination, in order to support Indonesia's vision of being free of Tuberculosis 2030.
"This examination is to detect TB early and prevent transmission of this virus," said Pangkalpinang Mayor Saparudin in a press statement, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.
He said the Pangkalpinang City Government through the Pangkalpinang City Health Office (Dinkes) from January to October 2025 had conducted free TB checks on 5,317 residents, in order to realize the city of Pangkalpinang free of TB.
"A total of 658 out of 5,317 residents who carried out TB tested positive for this tuberculosis," he said.

He stated that in addition to carrying out tuberculosis examinations, the Pangkalpinang City Health Office also conducted malaria tests on 1,843 people from the target of 2,126 people, or 87 percent.
In addition, HIV examinations were also carried out on 5,585 people or 92.3 percent of the target, with 98 HIV positive people and 20 AIDS sufferers.
"We continue to strengthen the strategy of preventing and controlling infectious diseases in order to maintain the quality of public health in this area," he said.
