Flick's Praise For Hattrick Fermin And Brace Rashford, Between Barcelona Winning Big Over Olympiacos

JAKARTA - Fermin Lopez scored a hat trick and Marcus Rashford scored twice as Barcelona beat Olympiacos 6-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, WIB night.

Barcelona took advantage of the situation when the winner of the Super League Greece had to play with 10 people after the controversial red card of the Santiago Hezze in the 57th minute. Flick's men immediately scored four goals to complete the landslide victory, after winning 2-1.

Olympiacos was unable to do much when Hezze received a second yellow card in the 57th minute despite replays showing he had no contact with Marc Casado, who tried to withdraw.

In fact, Olympiacos had caught up to 1-2 with a Ayoub El Kaabi penalty three minutes before the red card.

However, this effort was in vain. Barcelona went berserk by scoring four goals in just 11 minutes.

"He (Fermin Lopez) has potential, you can see today, the dynamics, in front of goal he is very dangerous."

"For us, it's important for him to have it on the team. He's good at possession. When with the ball, he's fantastic."

"He gave us the required dynamics. Of course, he scored two goals at the start of a very important game for us," Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said, after the game.

Two accurate finishes from Fermin Lopez put Barcelona 2-0 up in the first half. Their second goal came after receiving a sweet through ball from 17-year-old Champions League debutant, Dro Fernandez.

After winning with an overpopulation of players, Barcelona's goal party started with Lamine Yamal's penalty in the 68th minute.

Rashford then went to the scoreboard in the 74th minute, scoring his fourth goal when he controlled the ball from a distance of 10 yards. He completed it accurately at the near post.

The England player also scored Barcelona's sixth goal after a slick footwork. He held Pedri's cross with an outside of his leg and immediately saw an opportunity from the edge of the penalty box, pointing a low shot into the bottom corner of the net with the next touch.

Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United, has now scored four goals in three games in the Champions League this season.

On the sidelines of his two goals, Fermin Lopez completed his performance with a hat trick when he released a deflected cross.

It was Fermin Lopez's first hat-trick in his career and the first by Spanish players for Barcelona in the Champions League.

This victory is Barcelona's provision for the first El Clasico of the season against Real Madrid on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
