JAKARTA - BUKA Group held the peak event of the PUJAAN (Perempuan Jaga Cuan) Vol. 4 program at SCTV Tower Hall, Jakarta, Tuesday 21 October. Present at the event was the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Hafid; Chief Executive of Behavior Supervisory for Financial Services, Education, and Consumer Protection Business Actors concurrently Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi, BUKA Group Leaders, and women who are great MSME actors.

This year's PUJAAN has the theme "Festival of Women Empowered and Working." The theme has the spirit to empower female MSMEs through increased financial literacy and ease of access to capital.

Women dominate micro-scale business actors in Indonesia. The development of digital technology opens up great opportunities for them to run and increase their business. To take advantage of this opportunity, entrepreneurial women must have adequate digital and financial literacy.

Independent Commissioner and ESG Ambassador of BUKA Group, Yenny Wahid, said, the development of the digital ecosystem not only presents extraordinary benefits, but also a big threat to women's micro-enterprises, such as online fraud and cyber crime.

"In today's digital era, many families are now facing new risks, namely online fraud, cyber crime, to the rise of online gambling and not only adults who are victims, but also starting to target young Indonesians," said Yenny.

BUKA Group itself has a strong commitment to hone women's entrepreneurial digital and financial literacy. This commitment is realized in the PUJAAN program which is specifically designed with a focus on financial literacy and anti-fraud awareness (anti-scam). PUJAAN is expected to be able to help women's business actors to manage finances better, while increasing their business resilience with full awareness of the potential risks of cyber crime.

Through the PUJAAN program, BUKA Group seeks to accelerate digital adoption among female entrepreneurs in the traditional stall category, making shop MSMEs the closest agent to the public to increase awareness of online anti-judies and secure digital literacy, as well as to enliven the national agenda of the 2025 Financial Inclusion Month (BIK).

Strengthening digital and financial literacy for women's micro-scale business actors is very crucial. Because with their skills to use digital technology, they can run their business optimally as well as become a bulwark for their families and the surrounding environment from digital threats. Yenny even called female micro business actors as family digital guards.

The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Hafid, said that online gambling is still a serious problem for people and families in Indonesia. The online gambling phenomenon is considered to be a social disaster, which not only has an impact on the economic aspect, but also psychology, social, and law. Therefore, the presence of tough women as the frontline dispels digital threats in families, including online gambling, is very crucial.

Online gambling is very damaging for almost the entire joints of life. Many family conditions, especially from the economic aspect, were destroyed by online gambling. To prevent and overcome this problem, women as the front line of the family must fortify those closest to them from online gambling. Therefore, I really appreciate this RAIN that will be able to strengthen and equip women in overcoming digital threats, especially online gambling," said Meutya.

Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial, Education and Protection Business Actors of OJK Consumers, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in strengthening digital and financial literacy for entrepreneurial women in Indonesia.

Women have an important role in encouraging the nation's economic growth. To achieve the 8 percent economic growth target launched by the Government, we need to open new sources of growth from regions and MSMEs. Therefore, financial literacy and inclusion for women must be strengthened, and most importantly all parties need to synergize and collaborate to make it happen," said Friderica.

Friderica reminded the importance of prudence in using digital financial services. He emphasized that the public, especially women who do MSMEs, always adhere to the principles of 2L (legally and logically), namely ensuring the legality of financial service institutions through the official OJK channel and thinking rationally towards every unreasonable offer.

Meanwhile, Yenny Wahid also conveyed an inspiring message about the meaning of empowerment in the context of the digital era. "Being a champion is not only about who is the strongest or the fastest, but about who keeps trying, who wants to learn, and who doesn't stop doing good to others," Yenny said.

Through the PUJAAN program, BUKA Group wants to create a community of women who support each other, not compete with each other, as well as become the backbone of the economy and the resilience of families and the bastion of protecting families from cyber crime and online gambling. Because when one woman grows, the entire community progresses. This will certainly have a good impact on the economy, especially the welfare of families in Indonesia.
