Dedi Mulyadi Denies West Java Provincial Government Establishes APBD In Deposit, Asks Minister Of Finance To Open Data

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi denied the West Java Provincial Government's statement that the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) was deposited in the form of deposits, therefore he suggested that the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, disclose data on areas that store funds, not in their regional banks.

Dedi said he had checked directly with Bank Jabar Banten (BJB) regarding whether there were regional funds deposited there.

"I have checked that no one is stored in the deposit," said Dedi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 21.

According to Dedi, if there are local governments that store money in the form of deposits, then this is a problem, because the local government is not able to manage regional finances properly.

Therefore, Dedi asked Minister Purbaya to announce which local governments store funds in the form of deposits in various banks.

Dedi Mulyadi reminded that there should not be a negative opinion that the local government is unable to manage finances. Because the negative impression will be very detrimental to the areas that work well.

If all local governments are considered the same, judged by Dedi, then the regions that work well will experience financial management problems so that the carrying capacity of fiscals decreases.

Dedi emphasized that currently the West Java Provincial Government is accelerating public spending in the midst of budget efficiency.

This statement, said Dedi, responded to the statement by the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, regarding 15 regions that store funds (not) in banks, including West Java, in a regional inflation meeting with Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Monday (20/10).

The West Java Provincial Government is said to have deposited deposits of IDR 4.17 trillion. Apart from West Java, Purbaya also said that the Jakarta Provincial Government kept deposits of IDR 14.683 trillion and the East Java Provincial Government IDR 6.8 trillion.

Purbaya revealed the data from Bank Indonesia which revealed funds deposited in regional cash accounts reached Rp233 trillion, including regency government deposits (Pemkab) of Rp134.2 trillion, provincial government deposits (pemprov) of Rp60.2 trillion and city government (Pemkot) of Rp39.5 trillion.
