CBA Asks KPK To Immediately Investigate Allegations Of Badminton Corruption: If You Are Still WAITing, It Means You Are Afraid Of Luhut-Jokowi

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Center for Budget Analysis (CBA), Uchok Sky Gaddafi, asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to directly investigate the alleged mark-up in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project.

Uchok assessed that the KPK does not have to wait for reports related to the case. However, if the KPK is silent, according to him, it means that the commissioner is really afraid of the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo as the person who approved this project.

"While the cement project is still cold, the KPK can dismantle it as quickly as possible," said Uchok to VOI, Tuesday, October 21.

"KPK is not the king, who is only waiting for data reports and documents from the public. It is better if the KPK must move quickly to uncover the alleged mark-up case of the funch project. If the KPK is still waiting, it means that the commissioners and KPK investigators are very afraid of Luhut and Jokowi," he continued.

Uchok then highlighted Luhut's statement that the Jakarta-Bandung KCJB high-speed rail project had indeed rotted from the start. Uchok considered that the statement was strange because Luhut was the Chairman of the KCJB Project Committee.

The former Coordinator of Advocacy and investigation of the Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (FITRA) suspects that Luhut is panicking or a beard fire due to allegations of inflating or mark-up for the construction costs of KCJB.

"Maybe because of the suspicion that the mark-up costs for the construction of thelush Train, Luhut immediately said rotten goods. It's like a mustache fire," said Uchok.

Uchok also explained that Luhut was appointed by Jokowi to be the Chair of the KCJB Project Committee through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 93 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 107 of 2015 concerning the Acceleration of the Implementation of KCJB Infrastructure and Facilities. Therefore, Uchok assessed Luhut's statement as being exposed to his own face.

"It's like slapping water in the face itself. Then the water splashes are removed even though it's rotten but we fix it," said Uchok.

"What needs to be improved is not the rotten goods, but there is a problem, first, there is a mark-up on the trash train, and the debt of theASH train that Luhut must be held accountable for," he said.

Therefore, the former 1998 student activist urged the KPK to pick up the ball related to the alleged mark-up which was difficult to cover from the KCJB project initiated by Jokowi from 2016-2023.

"We urge the KPK to investigate the potential loss to the state from the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail (KCJB) project, which has a project value of around US$7.2 billion. Whereas initially, China applied for a fee of 5.5 billion US dollars. For what? Now the people are in charge of fast train debts, the people are also through taxes," he said.

"If this issue has not been resolved, what has Luhut fixed so far? Of course there is none. This issue is already a sin that needs to be resolved, not with words that have been corrected, but into the realm of law so that law enforcement officers carry out investigations," he concluded.

"It's okay"
