JAKARTA - Human Rights Minister (HAM) Natalius Pigai said he had dispatched a team from the Bali regional office to monitor the development of the death of Udayana University (Unud) student Timothy Anugerah Saputra who was suspected of being a victim of bullying.

"I have ordered my staff in Bali to check ... three days ago I ordered," said Pigai as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 21.

He said that the Bali Ministry of Human Rights Regional Office is currently conducting monitoring. Therefore, Pigai said that his party had not yet made a decision regarding further action to be taken.

"I'm waiting for a report from the regional office in Bali first," he said.

Even so, Minister Pigai ensured that the case became the attention of the Ministry of Human Rights.

He emphasized that bullying and other acts of violence should not happen anywhere, especially in the realm of campuses.

"The academic world is a world [which] is clean from various bullying (bullying) actions, acts of violence, crimes, acts of persecution. Therefore, it must be removed, later we ask the police," he said.

Pigai explained that if a violation of the law was found later, the Ministry of Human Rights would ask the police to punish the parties involved.

"You can't let the bully take place," he asserted.

Previously, the Chancellor of Udayana University or Unud had formed a special investigation team to trace the death of Timothy Anugrah Saputra (22).
