Indosat Together With The Komdigi For The ESIM Biometric Registration Trial
JAKARTA - Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) together with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, held a Live Biometric Demo for eSIM prepaid services and registration processes.
Through this joint demonstration with Komdigi, Indosat shows the readiness of technology and infrastructure to support safe and practical biometric registration. Currently, the biometric system has begun to be implemented on various customer services.
The application of biometric registration refers to ISO 30107-3 international security standards, including digital processes ranging from customer number validation (MSISDN) and Population Identification Number, to face photo taking (self-photo), liveness detection verification, and face recognition with DUKCAPIL data.
With a face level of at least 95%, this system ensures the validity of the customer's identity while reducing the risk of misuse of personal data.
"We support the government's steps and are ready to collaborate to ensure the implementation of optimal policies for the benefit of customers and industrial progress," said Reski Damayanti, Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, quoted Monday, October 20.

Apart from Indosat, the two largest cellular operators in Indonesia, XLSMART and Telkomsel have also tested biometric registration with the same face recognition technology.
Edwin appreciated the opsel for showing concrete steps in the biometric registration trial as a form of responsibility as a cellular operator to its customers.
