A Year Of Prabowo-Gibran's Government Demoted, 1,743 Joint Officials Go Down To Guard The Palace And DPR

JAKARTA A total of 1,743 joint personnel were deployed by the Central Jakarta Metro Police to secure a demonstration initiated by the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) and a number of other community elements in the Monas area and its surroundings today, Monday, October 20, 2025.

The plan is that on Monday morning a number of community groups will hold demonstrations at various points in the Palace and DPR areas as a form of commemorating one year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro emphasized that the apparatus is ready to carry out security and order duties with high professionalism.

"Security officers will act decisively to carry out their duties. We are ready to maintain security and order, but still prioritize professionalism and persuasive attitudes in the field," said Susatyo in Jakarta, Monday.

The total joint personnel deployed reached 1,743, involving elements from the Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro, and Polsek ranks. Thousands of these personnel were deployed at strategic points, particularly around the Monas area, to anticipate potential disturbances in security and public order (Kamtibmas) as well as traffic jams.

Susatyo emphasized that freedom of expression must be carried out in an orderly manner and not violate the law. He warned the mass of action to stay away from anarchist acts.

"Convey opinions politely, do not damage public facilities, do not burn used tires, do not fight security officers, and obey the applicable rules," he said.

The police chief ensured that all security personnel on duty were not equipped with firearms and asked to prioritize a humanist approach. However, he stressed that the security forces would not hesitate to take firm action if the situation on the ground was no longer under control.

In order to prevent massive traffic congestion, the police appealed to the public and road users to avoid the Monas area and its surroundings. The police have prepared a vehicle flow engineering scheme that will be implemented situationally, depending on the increase in the number of masses or the potential for security disturbances.
