New YORK - Thousands of New Yorkers took to the streets to voice anti-government protests with the title "No Kings" (No King) referring to Donald Trump and his staff. The movement began in the city center, including Manhattan's main streets.

Citing ANTARA from the RIA Novosti correspondent report, Saturday, October 18, the protest center is in Times Square and the surrounding streets.

As of 12.00 local time (23.00 WIB) thousands of people participated in the protest, many brought plaques criticizing the current government, immigration services, and law enforcement agencies.

So far, the protests have been peaceful, without police intervention, according to the correspondent.

Earlier that day, the "major reason" of the protest, US President Donald Trump, went off to play golf weekend in Florida.

Anti-government protests are planned that day across America as well as in Washington, DC. It will be the second wave of mass demonstrations after the first similar protests in mid-June.

More than 2,500 protests are planned for Saturday, with millions expected to participate, organizers said.
