When Prabowo Alludes To ChatGPT And YouTube

BADUNG - President Prabowo Subianto said today's young generation is lucky because they live in an era of technological advances that provide many conveniences in learning, ranging from the internet, YouTube, to artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT.

"Now there is an extraordinary tool for young people. Now there is YouTube, there is the internet. In my past there was no ChatGPT, you guys were very good," said Prabowo when giving a speech at the open senate session of the 521 graduates of the State University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung, West Java, Saturday 18 October.

Prabowo admitted that until now he still likes to study in traditional ways, namely reading books every day for two to four hours. "I am still 2, 3, 4 hours a day I study. I can ask my aide or staff what time I sleep. At night, I read at least two hours," he said.

Despite acknowledging the great benefits of technology, Prabowo reminded that progress should not be misused. He considered technology to be a tool to deceive and spread lies quickly, including through AI which is able to create fake things as if they were real.

The President gave an example, he was once a victim of digital manipulation, such as fake videos that show as if he was good at singing to recording mock speeches in foreign languages, such as Mandarin and Arabia. He also highlighted the rampant manipulation of information in public spaces, such as the use of old photos or videos to describe the number of exaggerated action masses.

"This all shows that technological advances can be a double-edged sword. It depends on how we use it," said Prabowo
