Persija Submerges Persebaya 3-1 At Gelora Bung Tomo

Perumbaya - Persija Jakarta submerged the host Persebaya Surabaya with a score of 3-1 in the match week 9 of the BRI Super League season 2025/2026, at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Saturday night.

Persija's winning goal came from Dony Tri Pamungkas in the 21st minute, Jordi Amat menit ke-45+4 and Allano in the 73rd minute. While Persebaya's goal was created from Leo Lelis' feet in the 78th minute.

From the results of the match, Persija rose to third place, as well as shifted Persib Bandung with 14.

Meanwhile, Persebaya is still stuck in the middle of the standings in 7th place with 10 points.

In the early minutes the two teams played quite carefully to set the tempo of the game, although several times they tried to take advantage of the counter-attack.

Even though the game was slow at the start of the match, Persija appeared more dominant by relying on short passes from leg to leg to penetrate the host's defense.

Persebaya, who also hunted for victory, played patiently and disciplined in guarding the back line to reduce the pressure of the Kemayoran Tigers, while occasionally launching a quick counter-attack.

In the 21st minute, Persija finally broke the deadlock through a goal that started from Fabio's pass from the right side. The ball was greeted by Dony Tri and penetrated the Persebaya goal guarded by Ernando Ari. The score changed to 1-0 for the visitors' advantage.

Winning one goal did not make Persija relax attacks. Mauricio Souza's team continued to attack Persebaya's defense, but Eduardo Perez's squad was still able to overcome it well.

Persebaya got a golden opportunity in the 34th minute through Perovic who faced off with Persija goalkeeper Carlos, but his efforts still failed to bear fruit.

Towards the end of the first half, Persija doubled their advantage through Jordi Amat's kick in the 45+4 minute. The ball hit the bar before finally getting into the net. The score was 2-0 for Persija's advantage to survive until the referee blew the whistle signaling halftime.

Entering the second half, Persebaya immediately launched an attack on Persija's defense, but still not able to reduce the gap.

The opportunity came back in the 59th minute with a Gali Freitas shot from outside the penalty box after replacing Malik Risaldi, but the goalkeeper Carlos was able to deny the ball.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Souza's superior team chose to play slower by setting the tempo of the game, but occasionally launched a quick counter-attack to surprise the Bajol Ijo defense.

In the 70th minute, Persija made a profit after Catur brought Maxwell down in the forbidden box and the referee pointed to the spot.

Allano, who became the executor, managed to trick goalkeeper Ernando so that the score turned 3-0 in the 73rd minute.

Persebaya had a chance to reduce the gap to 1-3 in the 78th minute through Leo Lelis' kick which took advantage of a corner from Rivera.

Persija continued to press the home defense and created two golden opportunities in the 83rd minute through Exel and Hanif Sjahbandi's kick, but both of them have not succeeded in increasing their advantage.

Until the referee from DI Yogyakarta, Irfan Wahyu Wijanarko, blew the long whistle signaling the end of the match, the score remained 3-1 for Persija Jakarta's victory.

In the next match, Persebaya will visit PSBS Biak at Maguwoharjo Sleman Stadium, Friday (24/10). Meanwhile, Persija will challenge Madura United at the Gelora Madura Ratu Pamelingan Stadium, on the same day.
