High School Students In Bengkulu Expelled From School After Humiliating Palestine In TikTok, Police: Stop Bullying, Apologize!

JAKARTA - Head of Bengkulu Regional Police Public Relations Division Kombes Sudarno asked the public to stop bullying a high school student with the initials MS (19).

Through uploads on TikTok, MS is suspected of making hate speech against Palestine, which is currently being wracked by conflict with Israel. In the 8-second upload that was deleted by TikTok, MS recorded himself voicing blasphemy against Palestine.

"We cannot control the matter of bullying, because it is a reaction because of an action, but we ask the whole community not to overdo it so they have to say dirty words or bully, especially the student has apologized," said Sudarno. Bengkulu, Wednesday, May 19.

As a result of his actions, MS was also expelled from school. This decision was taken after the school evaluated the school rules and types of MS violations. As a result, the person concerned is considered to have exceeded the provisions.

MS has delivered an apology that has been disseminated on social media, claiming his actions were spontaneous as a form of prank with the aim of following social media trends. He did not expect to have a long tail.

Sudarno also asked people who had just received this information on social media to simply respond or comment with wise words.

Like giving advice or input so as not to make the situation worse.

He also ensured that the hate speech carried out by MS (19), a grade II high school student in Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province by making a video of insulting Palestine on his TikTok social media, did not continue to legal proceedings.

"When the police have finished. Yesterday the person concerned was met both from the local police and from the regional police. He has been advised not to create disturbing content next time," he said.

Sudarno also appealed to young people who actively use social media to create positive content, be it in the form of videos, photos or writings so as not to create unrest in the community.

He also asked parents to always supervise every activity of their children including using devices, and it is not easy to let children use social media without providing prior education.
